A visit to the mermaid's domain

Alyss sighed as she finally after many many hours pulled into the driveway of their new summer home. She hated the idea. A summer home in the middle of mermaid land! There was no way this could end well.
Her father a member of the royal council was asked to live among the mermaids and be sure they were upholding their end of the treaty. They were so goody goody that there was no way they couldn't. Her father was waiting at the door. He looked a lot older than he used to.

Alexander heard the car pull into the drive way. His sister was coming today. Dad was at the door, anxiously waiting. We were all on edge, living in a unknown territory and seeing a sister who he havn't even seen for six years.
James ticker opened the door and made his way out slowly. Alexander waited behind. He didn't know what to say. He barely knew the girl. It wasn't like they talked much.
Soon his father and sister were walking through the door.

It wa kinda awkward... Meeting them for the first time in a long time. They seemed decently nice. And Alexander didn't seem as jerkish as her friends brothers. It was a shock.
